CONDOLENCES to family and friends of Virginia Weldon, who died on Wednesday. There will be a visitation at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Sinnott Funeral Home in Lovilia.

Some of you may know of Joey Feek, who performed music with her husband, Rory. She died Friday, at 40. They recently recorded an album of hymns, which has topped the Billboard Top Country Album chart. Condolences to family and friends.
Gloria O. apparently did not have the surgery we expected; Judi J. has been cleared for surgery, but unable to schedule it till 2/18. Friend of Bill B. may have pancreatic cancer. Sarah (granddaughter of Lois Behrens) has cancer and is starting chemo -- may have surgery & radiation later. Marina Amos has had radiation and started chemo -- to have chemo every 3 weeks. Kenny Williams, Albia, has been in Des Moines hospital. Others in congregation, community, & extended families also need prayers. Debby C. (Stewart family) had a brother die this week.

On the plus side, Pam C. reports that a genetic test indicates that she is not a carrier of genes that she had feared. May all these folks recognize God's presence and care with them!
Debby C. says Teresa to have last chemo treatment this week. Bill B. says Lyle Cook is very ill & in Minnesota. Phil L. had cataract surgery last week. Sheila L. is in Albia hospital with blood clots. Norma Jean S. had back set, but getting better. Judy C. says granddaughter Alisa has concerns of flu while pregnant. Bill Henderson has been hospitalized. Hope everyone weathered the storm okay. Josephine Lindberg died yesterday -- keep family in prayer.
Prayers have been requested for Norma Jean S. for continuing health issues. Linda W. says granddaughter Emily having some health issues which required a visit to an emergency room. Others are recovering from various medical issues. Rev. William "Bill" Ballard, a retired pastor still active in our district and conference, died (Friday?). No word on services yet.
Linda W. said their grandson Daniel had his appendix removed & recovering.
Angie K. indicated her mother in Germany is responding well to a different medication for Parkinson's.

A suicide in the community on Thursday (Brent Kingery) has impacted some of the children from our VBS and after-school program. Please pray for the family of Samantha Nichols and other relatives and friends as they experience this difficult time.
Don Shelford had hip surgery Thursday, and remains at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines; David Jamison continuing to recover from broken leg / knee replacement; Sheila L. reports Gary continuing to recover from hip injury & they had a safe trip to visit him; Judy Conner recovering well. Prayers requested for Virginia Weldon. There will be a benefit for the Showers family at Albia on Saturday, July 25.
Connie B. is dealing with a broken arm bone near the shoulder. May take 6 to 8 weeks to heal. Dana, daughter of Connie & Bill B. is recovering from a broken bone in her foot. This is preventing her from working, and she had recently changed jobs, which is a complication. Her recovery may take a few months.
Debby C. said that Teresa has received good news form her recent scans. Chemo is nearing completion, and radiation may begin soon.
Sheila L. says that Gary is awaiting results of a recent MRI.
Connie Barnes fell Saturday and broke an arm close to the shoulder. She has an appointment with a specialist in Des Moines tomorrow.
David Jamison -- nephew of Phil & Sheila L. -- fell and broke a leg bone on Memorial Day. He is currently in a hospital, but expects to be released within a day or two. He is likely to need 8 weeks of recuperation.
An air ambulance (helicopter) apparently was in or near Lovilia yesterday. There was a fatal accident in Albia within the past few days. Please pray for these concerns.
Judy Conner reports that her bone marrow tests have been negative, which is good news.
Emily Flahive is enjoying her time in Nome, Alaska.Judi Johnson has a granddaughter from the Dallas, Texas visiting her, and will be spending time with other family members. We need to praise God for these joys and others we may have.

Goldie K. attended a UMW Mission Study in Knoxville Thursday -- says it was good. I attended a clergy meeting in Oskaloosa Thursday -- worthwhile.

Mercer of Kellerton -- would be leaving for a medical mission trip to South
Africa at the end of the month. He was off about 2 months -- she is
scheduled to leave on June 26.

A grandson of Fred & Goldie Kraber is on an Oskaloosa Robotics Team that has advanced to competition in St. Louis next month. They had placed second of 72 entries in the latest meet.
Merlin Newman reported a daughter will be teaching at Chariton next year.Our daughter from Illinois -- Barbara -- is visiting us this weekend and was in worship today.

Ron & Judy Conner have a granddaughter doing quite well in gymnastics this season. A member of the church has a relative who has received a significant scholarship, but not wanting to have it revealed at this time. Others have been mentioned as doing well academically and athletically.
